Wireless M2M (machine to machine) solutions are used for a wide variety of applications where a signal must be sent between two installations, without the need for human intervention.

Applications of the M2M system

The M2M system can be used to remotely secure machines. However, the machine-to-machine solution is also used, for example, to wirelessly stop a pump or motor as soon as a certain cycle has been completed or when a Level Control System has reached a certain level.

The Aquarius M2M system

The Aquarius M2M system is a system consisting of two fully waterproof units (IP68) where one unit functions as a transmitter and one unit as a receiver. Thanks to the solid cast housing of the Aquarius, the system is also suitable for use in the most extreme weather conditions.

How customers use our M2M solution

Examples of common applications among Tyro customers are the use of M2M systems on irrigation systems, CNC milling machines and water pumps. Below is an example of how such a system works in combination with an M2M system.

Irrigation installation by machine-to-machine

An irrigation system usually consists of a powerful pump - which pumps the water out of the ditch, for example - and a fire cannon that irrigates the field. When the spray computer indicates that the extinguishing gun has completed its program, the pump should of course switch off. The Aquarius M2M transmitter receives an input from the extinguishing cannon and transmits the signal wirelessly to the Aquarius M2M receiver on the pump, which is then immediately switched off. All this without human intervention, so without pressing a button.

Save time and money

Thanks to machine-to-machine communication, human intervention is no longer necessary, and in addition to time, costs are also saved by preventing unnecessary consumption of raw materials. Possible waste is also prevented when filling tanks or reservoirs.

A handy intermediate station for more reach

Despite the excellent range of Tyro's radio control systems, radio waves can sometimes hit the proverbial wall. Some obstacles, such as rocks, are barely penetrateable by radio waves. In mountainous areas where one wants to use a wireless radio control system - such as in the forestry sector in Austria - this can be a problem.

Tyro Remotes has developed the Radio Repeater especially for this purpose. This allows you to easily send radio signals around or over the obstacle.

Double the reach

The Tyro Radio Repeater is placed directly on or next to the obstacle, from where it forwards (repeats) the received signal from the remote control to the receiver or next Repeater in line. This significantly increases the range and can even be doubled. In fact, this is the same principle as with satellites; To communicate worldwide, several satellites are needed to bridge the curvature of the Earth.

Avoid the problems

The Tyro Radio Repeater can also be used in flat areas to increase the range. For example, in environments with many iron or steel obstacles that can disrupt or weaken the radio signal due to shielding, absorption or reflection. With the Radio Repeater from Tyro Remotes you can literally avoid this problem.

Two different housings

The Tyro Radio Repeater is available in two different housings; the Auriga housing or the Aquarius housing. The Auriga Repeater is equipped with a rechargeable battery pack, making this Repeater completely mobile. The Repeater in the Aquarius housing has a protection rating of IP68 (=100% waterproof), making it resistant to the most extreme weather conditions. The Aquarius repeater must be equipped with a permanent power supply (12/24V).
